There are ten narrative questions you will be asked in the application. We recommend that you compose your answers offline in a separate document before beginning the online application. These are the questions:
- What is your organization’s mission?
- Please describe what your organization does to engage the public with the humanities.
- Describe the public humanities program(s) you are requesting grant funding to sustain or create.
- How many people does/will this program(s) serve? (Your best estimate is acceptable.)
- How many people are employed full-time by your organization?
- How many people are employed part-time by your organization?
- What was your organization’s total budget in 2019?
- Briefly, how has your organization been impacted financially by the COVID-19 pandemic?
- Estimated Financial Loss from COVID-19.
- If there is any information we have not requested, but which you feel is important for Humanities North Dakota in evaluating your application, please provide it here.
In addition to responding to the ten questions above, the application process also requires that you:
- Download, complete, and upload a simple budget and description of the expenses the grant would cover. (Download the template here.)
- Designate two key people who will be responsible for the grant, a “project director” and “fiscal agent.”
- List your Federal Employer Identification Number assigned by the IRS.
- Upload a copy of your most recent 990 from (if you have one).
- Have a DUNS number per federal requirements in order to receive federal funds. A DUNS number can take up to two business days to receive. You may acquire a DUNS number from the DUNS Request Service website.
